Upcoming 5G mobile phones in India: Here are all 5G-ready smartphones expected to launch in 2019

1. OnePlus

In 2020, most flagship phones in the US will be 5G-capable, Lau predicted. Qualcomm President Cristiano Amon on Tuesday told CNET that by the holidays next year every Android handset maker that uses the Snapdragon processor will have a 5G phone. Right now, OnePlus doesn't have plans to launch a 5G phone in the US.

Huawei's first 5G phone will be powered by the Kirin 980 chipset, according to reports. The Kirin 980 will also support non-5G phones such as the Mate 20 series and the Honor Magic 2. These phones will have the first Cat. 21 modems offering download speeds of up to 1.4Gbps and carrier aggregation 

3. Vivo

5G is going to be the buzz word in 2019. Several OEMs like OnePlus, Xiaomi, Samsung, and some others have already confirmed that they are working on a 5G phone to bring in 2019. Now, there’s a new addition to the list. It’s Vivo. The Chinese smartphone maker is already on the development stage of the 5G phone and will be among the first smartphone companies to launch it in 2019. But will the 5G Vivo phone come to India? Well, whenever the market is ready for a 5G phone, Vivo will launch its 5G phone in India, Nipun Marya, Director-Brand Strategy of Vivo India told India Today Tech in an exclusive interview.

Vivo’s sister company Oppo also completed 5G tests using the Qualcomm X50 modem on a modified unit of the Oppo R15 smartphone. Oppo also reportedly plans a 5G smartphone release by 2019.

5. Samsung Galaxy S10

One of the hottest and most talked about smartphone right now is the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10 and there is talk that the device will get a special 5G variant in 2019. Samsung has already announced its new Exynos Modem 5100, which it says is the “industry’s first 5G modem that is fully compatible with 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Release 15.” Samsung is expected to launch four smartphones on the tenth anniversary of the Galaxy S series devices. Three of these smartphones are expected to launch in February-March, while the fourth one with 5G may launch at a later stage.
