October 2025 pixel update
🛠What’s Fixed / Changed
According to Verizon’s release notes and independent reports, the update primarily addresses bugs and stability issues.
Across most Pixel devices (7 → 10 series):
-
Fixed an issue where a semi-transparent background would linger after launching the camera
-
Resolved a System UI crash that happened when starting or stopping casting via the Media Output Switcher
Device-specific fixes:
Device (or series) | Fix / Change |
---|---|
Pixel 7 | Screen flickering and unexpected shutdowns under certain conditions |
Pixel 9 & Pixel 10 series | Fix for “flashlight status” not showing in the At a Glance widget |
Pixel 10 series | Fixes for frozen or fuzzy display issues |
Pixel Tablet | Stability fix under certain conditions |
🛡️ Security & Patch Level
-
The update includes the October 2025 Pixel Update Bulletin, which bundles both security fixes and functional patches for Pixel devices.
-
Interestingly, the Android security patch level in the update remains “September 2025”, because Google’s October 2025 Android Security Bulletin listed no new issues to patch.
-
This means the update is less about new security fixes, and more about addressing existing bugs and quirks.
📱 Who Gets It / Who Doesn’t
-
The update is being rolled out to Pixel 7, 8, 9, 10 series, Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, etc.
-
The Pixel 6 series is excluded this month — no October update is being made available for them.
-
Build numbers (for example) include BP3A.251005.004.B1 for many devices (Pixel 7–9 etc.) and BD3A.251005.003.W3 for Pixel 10 series.
If you tell me which Pixel model you have, I can check whether you will get this update (or already have) and when to expect it. Do you want me to check for your specific device?
