How to Easy Make Indian Gajar Ka Halwa at Home

 



Gajar ka Halwa (Carrot Halwa) ek popular aur delicious Indian dessert hai, jo grated gajar (carrot), doodh (milk), ghee, aur sugar se banaya jata hai. Yeh khaas taur pe winters mein zyada banaya jata hai jab gajar fresh aur meetha hota hai.

Yeh rahi Gajar ka Halwa banane ki recipe:
Ingredients:
  • 4-5 medium-sized gajar (carrots), grated
  • 1 cup full-fat doodh (milk)
  • 3-4 tbsp ghee (clarified butter)
  • 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 cup dry fruits (cashews, almonds, pistachios, etc.) – optional
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder (elaichi)
  • Saffron strands (optional)
  • A pinch of salt (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the Gajar:
  • Gajar ko acchi tarah se dhoke chhil lein, phir unhein grate kar lein.
Cook the Gajar:
  • Ek heavy-bottomed pan ya kadhai mein 2 tbsp ghee daalein.
  • Ghee garam hone par grated gajar daal kar achhe se mix karein.
  • Gajar ko medium flame par 5-7 minutes tak sauté karein jab tak wo halka soft ho jaye aur thoda sa juice release karein.
Add Milk:
  • Ab ismein 1 cup doodh daalein. Gajar ko doodh ke saath achhe se mix karein.
  • Doodh ko medium flame par cook hone dein, aur beech-beech mein stir karte rahen jab tak doodh thoda reduce na ho jaye (yeh process 10-15 minutes tak ho sakti hai).
Add Sugar & Flavorings:
  • Jab doodh thoda reduce ho jaye, usmein 1/2 cup sugar daalein (aap apne taste ke hisaab se sugar adjust kar sakte hain).
  • Ab 1/2 tsp cardamom powder aur saffron strands (agar use kar rahe hain) daalein.
  • Sab kuch achhe se mix kar lein aur cook karte rahein.
Cook Till Done:
  • Gajar aur doodh ka mixture cook hone par thoda thick ho jayega.
  • Jab mixture kaafi thick ho jaye aur ghee alag dikhne lage (kadhai ke sides par), tab aapko samajh aayega ki halwa tayar ho gaya hai.
Add Ghee & Dry Fruits:
  • 1-2 tbsp ghee aur dry fruits (cashews, almonds, etc.) daal kar mix karein.
  • Agar aapko thoda extra sweetness chahiye to sugar thoda aur add kar sakte hain.
Serve:
  • Aapka Gajar ka Halwa ready hai! Garma garam serve karein, aur enjoy karein.
Tips:
  • Agar aapko creamy texture pasand hai, to aap thoda fresh cream bhi add kar sakte hain.
  • Gajar ko finely grate karne se halwa ka texture smooth hoga.
  • Agar aap low-fat version banana chahte hain, to ghee aur doodh ka quantity thoda kam kar sakte hain.
